Mary Pinkoski (she/her) was the 2026 Ingenium Postdoctoral Associate at the Energy Stories Lab. She received her PhD from the University of Alberta in 2025. Mary’s Energy Stories Lab research was a community-driven, collaborative project bringing together contemporary and archival voices and belongings from the Abasand neighbourhood in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Drawing on her over two decades of experience as a museum practitioner, Mary's current research as a Postdoctoral Fellow (Smith Engineering, Queen’s University) explores how museum practitioners and engineers understand and honour their relational obligations to communities and to the land at decommissioned industrial sites.

All of Mary’s work integrates creative writing and other arts-based practices, informed by her experiences as an internationally recognized spoken word poet.
