Daniel Pasechnik, Ingenium Digital Rights Intern

Daniel Pasechnik (he/him) is a second-year undergraduate student in the University of Alberta Bachelor of Elementary Education program at Keyano College.

In collaboration with the Energy Stories Lab and Ingenium, his research focusses on the ways that digitization has shaped how cultural heritage is preserved and engaged with. He is specifically interested in how modern technologies unlock new opportunities for preserving history, while simultaneously introducing new challenges surrounding ownership, accessibility, and long term storage of digital artifacts.

Alongside his work with the Energy Stories Lab, he has contributed to Keyano's History Lab, which engages students with local heritage through hands-on experience digitizing artifacts from the Wood Buffalo Military Museum.
